Mr. Udom Srisomsong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, revealed after visiting Suphan Buri and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya provinces that the visit was to monitor the paddy purchasing situation during the second-crop rice harvest season, which is in line with the policy of Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, Minister of Commerce, who has ordered the Department of Internal Trade to oversee agricultural product prices to ensure stability and fairness for farmers, including preventing farmers from being taken advantage of or taking advantage of the situation to lower purchasing prices.
From the inspection of rice mills and rice docks together with officials from the Provincial Commerce Office and the Weighing and Measuring Inspector at Thap Somboon Rice Dock, Suphan Buri Province, the Agricultural Cooperative for Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) Marketing Customers, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and Ruaythapthongthawee Company Limited, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, it was found that rice buyers clearly displayed their purchase prices and used vehicle scales and moisture meters that were accurate according to the law. There was no evidence of opportunistic charging for the weight of rice purchased from farmers.
